Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) This opportunity sits within a global organisation that is a leading player in the delivery of major infrastructure, energy, O&G and resources projects across Australia As the Senior Procurement Manager you will play a key role in supporting the corporate procurement organization, optimizing procurement processes and best practices, enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring the seamless flow of materials and products from suppliers to customers. This is a category lead position (permanent materials, plant and equipment) with annuals spend greater than $500m per year Great opportunity for progression with the intention of this position to progress in to a Supply Chain Director within the next 1-2 years Main responsibilities of the Senior Procurement Manager include Strategic Planning : Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize the supply chain, streamline operations, and enhance overall efficiency. Supplier Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and services. Defines the procurement and negotiation strategy, with a focus on achieving the relative money-saving targets and on consolidating the suppliers, by coordinating the team of reference projects. Approve and monitor all procurement actities for Australia & PNG projects based on relevant DoA. Risk Management : Proactively identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate disruptions, including developing contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies Process Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the supply chain, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Performance Monitoring : Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of the supply chain, analyze data, and drive actionable insights for improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including manufacturing, procurement, sales, and finance, to align supply chain activities with business objectives and customer requirements. Inventory Management : Oversee inventory levels, forecasting, and demand planning to minimize excess inventory while ensuring adequate stock levels to meet customer demand. Logistics and Distribution : Lead logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers. Compliance and Sustainability : Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, as well as company policies and procedures, while also promoting sustainability initiatives throughout the supply chain. What can you bring as the Senior Procurement Manager : Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Proven experience (10 years) in supply chain management, with a demonstrated track record of leadership and success in optimizing supply chain operations. Experience working in an engineering and construction environment would be highly advantageous Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
