This applies to existing Corporations and those wishing to register.Other requirements of the role may include:Our Ideal CandidateOur ideal candidate will ensure timely and quality responses to inquiries and complaints using ORIC's business systems and processes. You must be able to provide information to Indigenous Corporations, their members and Common Law holders regarding complex matters under the CATSI Act and Native Title legislation.You will also have experience in interpreting the CATSI Act and Native Title legislation to ensure corporations are complying with the legislations, policy, and regulatory frameworks. You will have the ability to deliver specialist training to assist the Indigenous Corporation with targeted governance and Native Title issues and be comfortable facilitating, observing and/or chairing meetings, representing ORIC in external forums and promoting the role of the registrar and the benefits of the CATSI Act.You will need to identify opportunities to build PBC capability with skills and processes for managing future disputes and maximising positive outcomes and improved dispute management practices in the sector. Key to your success will be your ability to work collaboratively, forming positive relationships with key stakeholders, communities and corporations to identify the needs and strategies for improving the governance, compliance and sustainability of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations in the region.Other requirements of the role will include:The position requires the successful candidate to hold a full driver's license without restrictions.Having experience and/or qualifications in legal practice, native title, alternative dispute resolution, business administration or Certificate IV in training and Assessment would be advantageous.Identified Position/Affirmative Measure PositionThis position constitutes an Affirmative Measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 and is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates.This position is also Identified which signifies that the role has a strong involvement in matters relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.This position is required to liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and service providers.
