The AUB Group has a brand-new opportunity for an HR Manager to join our growing, busy team on a full-time permanent basis. The role would be hybrid and based between North Sydney and home. The AUB Group is an ASX 200 company, and the largest equity-based insurance broker across Australia and New Zealand. We have also recently acquired Tysers in the UK as we expand internationally. We hold 100+ direct investments into broking, underwriting agency, and health and rehabilitation businesses, with a further 100+ businesses held by our subsidiaries. The Group operates within the insurance intermediary sector, proving insurance broking, underwriting agency, post claim rehabilitation, investigation, and loss adjusting to small and medium enterprise businesses. The Group follows an owner driver model with the original founders of partner businesses continuing to drive the growth of our equity investments. As such, operations are decentralised across our network of partner businesses. The HR Manager will provide support to the head office entities as well as our subsidiaries and network of partner businesses. The role plays a pivotal role in partnering with senior leaders and senior leadership team to deliver operational and strategic HR support enabling them to achieve their people strategy, and actively contribute to the delivery of the broader organisational HR strategy and projects. Reporting to the Group Head of HR in London, this opportunity will have two direct reports and works closely with Tysers HR team in the UK. The role will be responsible for leading the Human Resources team, fostering a collaborative culture, driving continuous growth, development and learning while optimising processes and improving efficiencies in HR systems. Additionally, the role will have responsibility for: Providing high-level strategic advice and support across a number of key areas including workforce planning, organisational design, workplace change, performance management, legislation, industrial relations policy development, remuneration and reward and recognition. Cultivating strong partnerships with clients to understand and proactively support their human resources needs relating to people management and employee relations issues. Collaboration with stakeholders to develop and implement innovative HR and business improvement strategies. Preparation and presentation of HR reports, providing HR data and analytics to Executive and Management and highlighting key metric trends. Implementation and promotion of policies and programs in alignment with legal requirements, best practice and organisational needs. Reviewing practices and ensuring ongoing compliance with labour laws and regulations, staying abreast of changes and advising management accordingly. Identification of training needs and leading the establishment of employee development and leadership programs. Delivering people focused engagement plans and diversity and inclusion initiatives to create a supportive, respectful and safe working environment. Working closely with relevant functions, including Legal and Compliance to support the company in developing and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment. Undertaking and coordinating projects within budget, timeframes and to the agreed service standards. This role would suit someone who wants a level of autonomy but is also happy to roll up their sleeves and get into the thick of things with a fun and hardworking team! We are seeking someone with a sound generalist knowledge across the spectrum of Human Resources practices, including recruitment, performance management and appraisal, succession planning, global mobility (including visas), remuneration and benefits, industrial relations, organisational development and workplace diversity and inclusion. The following skills are paramount to being successful in this position: Extensive knowledge of employment legislation, HR trends, and changes in policy that affect people at work. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing effective HR solutions and initiatives. Demonstrated ability to proactively deliver high quality, strategic and solution-oriented HR services to a diverse group of clients, including the senior leadership team. Demonstrated ability to lead a small team of HR professionals effectively, and to build and maintain positive relationships with key client groups. Superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to liaise, consult, and maintain robust working relationships across all organisational levels. Strong negotiation skills and effective stakeholder management with proven ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. Advanced analytical, interpretation and problem-solving skills with experience in delivering reports including annual Board reports, WGEA reports as well as any required by the company. Advanced numeracy skills with the ability to understand and communicate financial information and manage budgets. Insurance or financial services experience highly advantageous.
