The Senior Functional Business Analyst role's purpose is to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that the project's outcomes align with the organisation's strategic goals.
This role forms a crucial part of the Delivery Team supporting the Technology Simplification Program called Unite and is vital to ensuring improvements are aligned to the needs of our business, bankers, and customers.
Core responsibilities include: Gather detailed requirements from stakeholders through interviews, surveys, workshops, and observation.Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and data flows to understand the current state and identify opportunities for improvement.Clearly define the project scope and ensure that requirements are aligned with business objectives.Convert business requirements into functional specifications that can be used by the development team.Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and the project management team ensuring clear and continuous communication.Create comprehensive documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, use cases, process flows, and data models.Communicate requirements and project status clearly and effectively to all stakeholders.Identify potential risks related to business requirements, scope, and implementation.Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified risks.What's in it for me? What do I need? Existing experience as a Senior Functional Business Analyst working on large scale projects.Demonstrate effective group management techniques to ensure outcomes are achieved or corrective action is taken to mitigate recurrence where obligations have not been met.Ability to provide direction and guidance to others to undertake required activities to understand a problem and recommend an accepted solution; demonstrating the ability to assess a recommended solution and the associated decision process with a supporting rationale.Demonstrated ability to identify root causes and pain points to highlight critical improvement opportunities.Capable of facilitating activities that support solution delivery by removing constraints and blockers to ensure the full value of solution outcomes is realised.Strong relationship building skills and stakeholder management skills essential.Ability to present to large audiences.Personal attributes: Ethical and a critical thinker.Customer Orientation - Demonstrates passion and desire to delight customers.
Able to build rapport, engage people, and have genuine interactions with business partners.Learning Agility - Able to absorb and utilise new information and experiences quickly and effectively, including learning new technology and the ability to translate learning into educating customers.
