Senior Financial Accountant

Osborne Richardson is currently seeking a dynamic Senior Financial Accountant to join our client, a State Government Department based in Sydney, on an initial 6-month contract. Role Overview: As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing financial management advice, support, and consultancy to key stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include overseeing ledger systems, maintaining financial project artifacts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and leading in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Provide financial management advice and support to key stakeholders - Design, produce, and maintain financial accounting project artifacts - Oversee ledger systems and ensure data integrity - Assess the impact of changes to accounting standards and legislation - Lead month-end accounting processes and reconciliations - Develop and implement financial policies and procedures Essential Criteria: - CPA or CA Professional Membership - SAP/S4 Hana Financial Accounting module experience - Hands-on experience in delivering results with minimum supervision - Excellent communication skills and ability to lead productive discussions Desired Criteria: - Experience in Finance Transformation projects - Knowledge of NSW Government Financial Management and Statutory reporting - Experience in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures - Ability to design and produce financial analysis reports If you're ready to take on a challenging role where you can utilise your expertise to drive positive change, we want to hear from you!
