Key Responsibilities and Duties Include: Lead the preparation of detailed quotations and tenders by interpreting complex scopes of work, specifications, and drawings, with a focus on civil works, earthworks, road construction, and drainage installation projects. Utilize Expert Estimation software for the preparation of 1st Principles estimates, incorporating costs for labor, materials, equipment, and freight. Participate in pre-contract negotiations and tender reviews, managing the preparation of RFQs for equipment vendors. Develop cost analysis spreadsheets and manage the preparation of bill of quantities for civil and earthworks projects. Coordinate and facilitate tender close-off meetings and post-tender negotiations with relevant stakeholders. Maintain and update the library of standard documentation and estimating data, ensuring the accuracy of tender submissions. Collaborate closely with site supervisors and management to gather essential information for tenders, organizing planning meetings for effective project coordination. Oversee procurement processes, including the selection of suppliers and subcontractors, contract negotiations, and materials delivery coordination. Provide continual cost management throughout project execution, ensuring compliance with tender conditions and project scope. Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar estimating role, specifically within civil engineering, earthworks, road construction, or drainage installation. Proficiency in Expert Estimation software and project management tools such as MS Project or P6. Strong technical knowledge of civil and construction processes, with a proven track record in managing complex estimation tasks in earthworks and drainage projects. Degree qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant practical experience are highly desirable. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills for evaluating costs, solving complex problems, and making informed decisions. Proven experience in leading and building collaborative teams, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Thorough understanding of construction contracts and industry-specific terminology.
