Proofpoint's global corporate communications team drives positive awareness of the company through strategic media and influencer relations, a global thought leadership program, corporate awards and speaker's bureau, product announcements, media events, and other PR programs directed towards business, industry/trade, consumer, and technology media outlets.This position will report to the Vice President, Global Corporate Communications based in London to support a highly effective PR program, reaching key regional media outlets and target audiences.As part of the global corporate communications team, the senior manager will be responsible for team-wide project management, research, copywriting, staffing media briefings, reporting, and supporting corporate initiatives. This position plays a critical role in gaining recognition in the market, promoting our products, and establishing our thought leadership throughout target industries and audiences. This role is open to Sydney Australia or Singapore.Responsibilities: Lead regional media relations program execution across a growing number of geographies across APAC with an immediate focus on Australia, Japan, Singapore and South KoreaManage local PR agency relationships, tracking performance through established KPIsFacilitate/coordinate briefings between Proofpoint spokespeople and media, while driving proactive/reactive effortsDraft materials including press releases, briefing documents, blog posts, and media statementsCoordinate media tours and speaking opportunities for senior executives across the APJ theatreParticipate in creative brainstorming among both internal and external PR teams; help develop story angles and creative pitches to drive meaningful coverageManage regional awards program (including executive, company, industry and product recognition)Secure speaking opportunities for senior executive, working closely with the regional field marketing teamSupport regional channel and technical alliance partner communications needsPartner with members of the Proofpoint marketing team to contribute to broader communications efforts, including social media, events, analyst relations, regional marketing, and other touch points with media/influencersResponsible for media training of all APJ spokespeoplePosition Requirements: 5 to 7+ years of experience working in B2B corporate communications, either agency-side or in-house; security/tech PR experience preferredOutstanding senior stakeholder management skills with track record of driving communications program for executive staff; capable of building strong working relationships across all levels of the companyStrong background in media relations including broadcast, public relations writing, project management, coordination of media tours and proven interaction with regional reportersMust think like a journalist and show passion for finding creative ways to pitch stories that are interesting, inspiring and informativeBe an outstanding writer familiar with AP Style, and possess strong verbal communication skillsIntelligent, personable, thoughtful and strong interpersonal skillsMust be detail-oriented as well as deadline-focusedAble to complete projects with minimal supervisionMust be able to work effectively in a global and remote team environmentAbility to excel in a fast-paced environmentBachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, English, journalism or equivalentMulti-lingual skills a plus (Japanese)International travel requiredWhy Proofpoint?Protecting people is at the heart of our award-winning lineup of cybersecurity solutions, and the people who work here are the key to our success.
