Join QGCDG's Strategy and Transformation unit as they lead the Rostering, Time and Attendance Project (RTA) focused on replacing manual, bespoke and outdated solutions with a modern software-as-a-service alternative. The Senior Business Analyst role is crucial in ensuring that the project is aligned with business strategies and that project outcomes are adopted successfully by the in-scope agencies.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst for the RTA Project are: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document the project scope, objectives, constraints, and deliverables.Conduct interviews and workshops to gather detailed business and system requirements from stakeholders.Analyse and prioritise requirements, ensuring they align with the project objectives and document in appropriate formats.Keep stakeholders informed of project progress and manage their expectations regarding project progress and outcomes.Map out current and future business processes to identify necessary changes and improvements that the project should deliver.Work with the project manager, technical teams, and design teams to translate requirements into system features, functions, and processes.Assist the Project Manager with project planning tasks and changes to project scope, using structured change control processes.Assist with the development of test plans, scripts, and the execution of user acceptance testing.Assist with the development of training materials and in conducting training sessions.Participate in post-implementation reviews focusing on project benefits and lessons learned.

Mandatory requirements: A minimum of 2 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
On 1 November 2024, the Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group (QGCDG) transitioned from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) to the newly established Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (DCSODSFB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes. As a result, this position will continue to be part of QGCDG but will no longer be part of DTMR. The conditions and entitlements that apply to the new DCSODSFB are still to be determined and may differ from those advertised.
