The role We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer, experienced with AWS Cloud infrastructure, to join our team in continuously improving the performance and reliability of the ServiceM8 platform. You will be the lead on developing, maintaining and innovating ServiceM8's deployment pipeline & underlying infrastructure, working with other developers, and reporting to ServiceM8's CTO.
Responsibilities In this role you will:
Develop and iterate delivery pipelines, software tools & automated solutions to continuously improve ServiceM8's code production & deployment, platform performance and security. Monitor and optimise ServiceM8's service delivery and platform performance, and remediate any load or performance issues if/when they arise. Implement and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation. Automate, support and continuously improve infrastructure in AWS with infrastructure-as-code solutions. Create and maintain APIs, website frontends, and command line tools. Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing on the AWS platform. Implement automated detection and alerting of anomalous behaviors. Identify gaps in automated testing and implement solutions. Promote cross-team communication, processes and monitoring which drives incremental improvement. Stay up to date with new and emerging technologies and solutions, and promote opportunities to make use of them where relevant. Be part of a 24x7 on call rotation, where you must be available to respond to and resolve systems incidents which may be affect service delivery. Essential To be the right fit for this role, you'll need to have:
3+ years hands-on experience automating infrastructure in a cloud environment, preferably Amazon Web Services. Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code, with tools like Cloudformation, Terraform, Ansible and Chef etc. An understanding of REST APIs. Knowledge of relational database systems and concepts (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.). Experience administering both Linux and Windows servers as well as Docker-based infrastructure (like Kubernetes, ECS, etc.) in a highly available environment. A strong desire to automate processes, build software tools, and create infrastructure-as-code solutions in a DevOps environment. Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical abilities. A shared belief in our values. Desirable It would be awesome if you also have:
Basic knowledge of PHP. Experience with:
IAM.
CloudFormation, Terraform.
Lambda, ECS, EC2, VPC.
DynamoDB, RDS.
