In Australia, we have a large and distinguished national Government Practice and regularly advise government across a full range of legal and regulatory areas.
Our national government team is experienced in operating within the government environment, and understand this is shaped by factors such as complex policy and legal frameworks and a culture of consultation, accountability, public scrutiny and high visibility.
We are currently looking to recruit an Associate to join our Commonwealth Government practice, based In Canberra, with a focus on Government Litigation and Administrative law.
As an integral member of the team you will be: Acting for clients in the ART, Federal Court and High Court in administrative law litigation Advising on all aspects of information law, including drafting FOI decisions and policies Advising clients with respect to all aspects of legislation, including advising on complex statutory interpretation issues Advising and developing policy and procedure documents Assisting administrative decision-makers to effectively discharge their functions, and assisting with the review of matters in the ART, Federal Court and the High Court of Australia.
