Our school is a multi-campus school which provides an intensive English language course for newly arrived migrants and refugees from non-English speaking backgrounds in the southeast Victoria students are introduced to the Victorian education system and assisted with settlement in Victoria. The basis of the curriculum is the study of the English language; however, the curriculum aims to prepare students for life in Australia. Many students have been displaced by war, economic hardship, or political persecution. The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. The classroom teacher engages in critical reflection and inquiry in order to improve knowledge and skills to effectively engage students and improve their the classroom teacher gains experience, their contribution to the school program beyond the classroom increases.
