About the role A position for a Part-time Multi-disciplined Scientist at the Brisbane Stat Labs is currently available who will be based at the Wesley Lab.Applicants shall possess an AIMS accredited degree with areas of study including Haematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Transfusion Science.Duties include: -• Specimen receipt and processing• Use and maintenance of the following analysers; Beckman Coulter AU680, XN1000, XN 550, CA-660, ABL90 and 800, Centaur XP, iSTAT, Grifols Eflexis and DG reader, Elecsys e411 and Poly Stainer • Rapid PCR on the GeneXpert• Centaur• Perform seminal analysis• Perform urine microscopy and other basic microscopy• QC monitoring• Participate in Internal and External surveys• Liaison between other departments and external customers (hospital staff).Previous experience is preferred.About you To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements: Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within the respective discipline Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills The ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseases .Benefits and Wellbeing As part of working for Healius, you will have access to a range of benefits including: A marketplace of exclusive discounts and vouchers from leading Australian and online retailers.Corporate health insurance discounts, banking benefits and novated leasing consultations.An e-learning platform with access to a library of courses and learning paths.An Employee Assistance Program dedicated to employee health and wellbeing provided by professional coaches.Fitness Passport – access fitness centres across Australia at a subsidised rate Career growth opportunities across the Healius network Being a part of a large ASX-listed organization focused on delivering positive outcomes to all Australians
