ResponsibilitiesTypical duties of a Science Laboratory Technician include:
Report directly to the Curriculum Leaders.Liaise with science/art teaching staff on their needs for practical work.Assist science teaching staff in instructing students on equipment use during experiments.Attend appropriate professional development.Maintain laboratory equipment and preparation areas.Assist in the care of animals and plants in accordance with current DET handling and animal ethics guidelines.Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Risk Assessment forms.Dispose of hazardous materials according to DET guidelines.Complete stock takes as required.Assist teachers with students' equipment needs.Complete risk assessments for all solution preparation in the laboratory.Other duties as directed by the Principal or Assistant Principal.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
