SALARY BANDING ABOUT THE ROLE As our Sales & Market Development representative, you'll be the human that will maintain and grow existing coffee/on-trade accounts, as well as closing new accounts within your assigned territory in either South/East London or North/West/Central London. This role is part-time only, likely to be 2-3 days per week depending on the candidate. On-trade sales with cafes and foodservice operators are the primary focus, with a secondary focus on market development and account management. This is a field-based position, with expectations to be actively selling in the market. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in the London coffee industry. We're looking for a coffee lover who is solutions-oriented, a self-starter, deeply organised, loves to work at a fast pace, and has excellent relationship development skills. WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR You'll be the go to human for all coffee related accounts in your territory. The one who brings the joy of Minor Figures to people, and brings a coffee experience like no other. We know, no two days will ever be the same, but to give the role some structure, here's some of the key responsibilities: Serve as THE face of the Minor Figures brand in your territory. Prospect and engage potential new partners for Minor Figures via a relationship led approach, along with keen understanding of the cafe and foodservice channels. Conduct regular visits and develop strong relationships with existing operators and accounts to retain and grow the business. Identify prospective customers, and track opportunities within our CRM for your respective pipeline, supported by our Sales Operations Lead and EMEA Sales Manager. Support sales and opportunities with marquee or strategic accounts as needed by regional sales managers/directors within your assigned territory. Educate, sample and support distributor representatives and teams, cafe partners, and operators alike. Multi task between several priorities, mapping out smart weekly routes to maximise daily field efforts. Participate in regular internal team calls, sharing best practices, feedback on competitors, and market intel. Collaborate with leadership on individual or career development quarterly goals that are challenging yet attainable. Maintain a high level of expertise in the broader coffee industry. ABOUT YOUR TEAM You'll be reporting to our EMEA Sales Manager. Our sales team is broken up into 2 channels; On-trade (cafe and foodservice) and retail (retail grocery). We are all coffee people and are very immersed in the coffee community nationwide, but we are equally as passionate about all of our customers and segments of business! Although the entire team is remote, we are a very close knit bunch. We might be a small team but we truly believe in our product and know how to speak the language of coffee. As well as having a minimum experience of 3 years in the London specialty coffee scene, we are looking for someone who: Is looking to stay in coffee, but wants a career change into Sales. Eager to visit every coffee shop and roaster in your territory in London. Eager to attend every event and coffee festival in London and beyond. Has a deep understanding of cafe culture, small business and operations of cafes/roasters. Loves people, the industry and is super passionate about what they do. Is not afraid to lose. Has strong organisational and planning skills. Is results driven with strong attention to detail. Is a self – starter who wants to learn and progress in the FMCG industry. Able to travel overnight for trade shows, company meetings or sales related activity. Strong communicator and loves working within a team. Hours of work will generally be 9.00am – 5:30 pm but may vary with workload or by agreement. Flexibility is required due to travel requirements. We expect that you will attend trade shows and networking events outside of these hours from time to time.
