Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) are now recruiting for a Risk & Systems Safety Assurance Advisor to support current and future projects as part of the Southern Program Alliance (SPA) working on the Level Crossing Removal Project.
The Risk & Systems Safety Assurance Advisor plays a key role in the implementation and control of MTM risk management strategies and LXRP's system safety assurance processes to minimise all forms of risk and maximise opportunities for the projects within the Alliance.
Working primarily from our project sites within the South eastern suburbs, this position is offered as a full time 12 month max term contract.
Key Responsibilities Risk: On nominated projects, develop and maintain the Master Change Register covering all facets of risk including safety, financial, operational, environmental reputational, design and construction etc.
On nominated projects, facilitate risk workshops and generate risk registers and risk reports as required for all facets of risk.
Champion the MTM risk management process within the MTM Projects Division.
Pro-actively ensure that Project staff and contractors have an awareness of the importance of risk management and comply with all legal obligations and Metro policies, procedures and guidelines.
Ongoing liaison with relevant peers and stakeholders: Continuous two-way information exchange with MTM project stakeholders on risk management activities.
Ensure emerging risks and changes in ongoing risks are brought to the attention of the Risk Manager (LXRP).
Liaise with relevant non-MTM project stakeholders (i.e.
designers, contractor's) to ensure deployment of MTM's risk management requirements and strategies.
Facilitation or attendance at relevant Projects and risk-related meetings including formal written reports and verbal presentations when required.
Be able to demonstrate a meaningful risk reduction glide-path over time.
Ensure all relevant staff at an on individual project level (including but not limited to Project Manager, Design Managers, Site Engineers) have a working knowledge of Projects Risk Management Process Guideline, understand the need for compliance and all the required outputs during the project life cycle.
System Safety Assurance: Management of MTM's system safety assurance requirements at the project level Provide assurance to the SERQ Manager and the Project Director that the project is managing safety SFAIRP Production of safety documentation in line with MTM's system safety assurance requirements and criteria.
Close liaison with the project to ensure that System Safety documentation is being delivered in accordance with the MTM System Safety Assurance Procedure.
Conduct MTM related Hazard Identification and Analyses Attend project meetings in support of system safety assurance.
Management of MTM identified Items in the Project's Hazard Logs, Safety Risk Registers and Change Registers Facilitate MTM system risk assessments as required.
About You: A tertiary qualification in a relevant field is required (e.g.
Engineering, Industrial Safety, risk management) Experience facilitating risk assessment workshops and identification of risk reduction strategies Demonstrated experience in project delivery incorporating risk management; design office or a construction environment is desirable Excellent verbal and written skills, Critical thinking, analytical assessment and problem solving abilities Strong capabilities in consultation and interpersonal relationships management Working knowledge of safety-related standards Demonstrated experience in the development of hazard analysis and risk assessment's This is a fantastic opportunity to build on the career you've developed to date and take it to the next level by making a tangible impact that matters.
