About This Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Research Contracts Officer to manage the preparation, review, and execution of research-related agreements. This role involves providing efficient and timely contracting support to facilitate impactful collaborations between UQ researchers and their partners. Join us to play a vital part in advancing innovative research projects and outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include: Establish, review, negotiate, and coordinate the execution of research, consultancy, and other project agreements in line with UQ policies and individual partner requirements.
Deliver exceptional customer service, providing timely advice and expertise to researchers while exceeding customer needs.
Guide and train less experienced team members, overseeing risk-based triaging and fostering a strong customer focus.
Contribute to business process improvements and operational practices to enhance service provision.
Liaise with the Research Contracts Manager to address complex contractual issues and ensure alignment with UQ policies and researcher/partner requirements.
Make recommendations regarding the suitability of agreements for execution to UQ Delegates.
Actively demonstrate alignment with UQ Values, Code of Conduct, and operating principles in day-to-day operations.
Contribute to projects, policy reviews, compliance, and quality reporting, with flexibility to take on additional duties aligned with organizational objectives.

About You Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification and/or extensive relevant experience in managing research-related agreements in the higher education sector.
Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing research-related agreements in a complex environment.
Detailed understanding of research policies, rules, and procedures in the higher education sector, with skills in interpretation and application.
Ability to identify and address complex contractual issues, escalate appropriately, and effectively negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
Skilled in building cooperative relationships with researchers, external partners, and teams to deliver high-quality, responsive service.
Excellent written and oral communication abilities, with tact, discretion, and proficiency in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects autonomously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Advanced computer literacy and a strong record of identifying and implementing process enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, AHPRA registration, mandatory immunisations, first aid and/or CPR certification, blue card check, etc.
