The ABDR is a clinical quality registry funded by the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care that provides long-term monitoring of implanted breast devices, including tissue expanders and meshes.The registry provides regular reports to the Therapeutic Goods Administration as well as to participating sites and surgeons, and industry, and is part of an international community of breast device registries. Under the guidance of the ABDR Research Fellow and the Senior Manager, Surgical Registries, the Research Officer will engage in a range of day-to-day registry activities, primarily those that support the ABDR in meeting all of its ethics and site governance requirements.The registry is undergoing a period of transformation, which includes streamlining ethical approval to sit under an overarching Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC). The role will involve supporting the team in bringing each and every one of the 250+ participating hospitals up-to-date with this new process.The ABDR Research Officer will also support other registry activities, including data management, site engagement, communications and administrative assistance to governance committee and team meetings.
