The VLF is a small and high functioning team, priding themselves on their expertise, collaboration and meaningful work in research, education and grants to support better justice for all Victorians.About the RoleThe Research function supports the VLF's vision of "a fair, equitable and accessible justice for all Victorians". Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is a key member of the VLF's leadership team.This role will guide a highly skilled research team, to make a valuable contribution to improving access to justice in Victoria and contributing to national and international thinking on justice.Key responsibilities of the role include:Strategic research leadership inside and outside the VLFDevelopment, design and implementation of research consistent with the aims of the VLFEngagement with the leadership team to ensure integration of the research work with other VLF activitiesManagement of research projects, including planning, conducting and reportingDevelopment and maintenance of high methodological standardsDevelopment of strong internal and external relationshipsManagement of the Research budget to deliver the on VLF strategic and business plansManagement, leadership, development and support of the Research teamSelection CriteriaThe full selection criteria is in the Recruitment Pack, detailing the core skills required in terms of:Qualifications and experienceProject Management and communicationTeam managementAbout YouThe successful candidate will have exceptional experience in research, preferably in civil justice, or a closely related field.
