Research Coordinator (University Department of Rural Health SW) Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) Bunbury $108,498 to $134,586pa (ALEV A/B) Plus 17% Superannuation Full time, Fixed Term (Project funding until 31 December 2026) The Position This is an exciting new position to develop an innovative program of translational research that will be aligned with the South West region's needs. Communication will be key for this role to grow stakeholder engagement, partnerships and deliverables in conjunction with the South Regional Health Research Collaborative.
Importantly, the role will be required to scope the needs and priorities for health within the South West to best determine how the UDRH SW will utilise its resources. This role will also include assisting the UDRH SW in building research capacity within the region e.g. providing workshops and mentoring for local healthcare professionals and students, building higher degree research opportunities. Engagement with communities and service providers across the South West is an integral part of the job, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, incorporating core principles of cultural security and cultural responsiveness.
The successful applicant will assist team members with collaborative research grants and a variety of research projects. The term of appointment is linked to a commonwealth funding grant; however, there is the possibility for extensions aligned to future funding also being renewed.

The Person To succeed in this pivotal support role, you will require the following experience and capabilities:
Professional qualification in a health-related field; PhD; Experience in grant writing and producing peer-reviewed publications appropriate for level of appointment; Experience in research related to rural health issues and/or Aboriginal health and wellbeing desirable but not essential; High degree of interpersonal skills, including teamwork and leadership, communication and negotiating skills; An ability to foster external relationships and communications with community and other stakeholders; Eligibility for Working with Children clearance and registration with professional organization as relevant. You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University's values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence, and Courage.

The Position Context The UDRH is a Commonwealth Government (externally funded) nationally networked University Department of Rural Health. Located from ECU in Bunbury, and operating through an integrated interdisciplinary model of education, the UDRH SW will provide outstanding rural training experiences for health students across WA tertiary institutions, within their professionally accredited courses including: Nursing & Midwifery; Social Work; Occupational Therapy; Speech Pathology; Psychology; Exercise Physiology; Paramedicine; Physiotherapy; Dietetics; Optometry; Audiology; Pharmacy. This is an important role to set up and support UDRH SW research, including supporting students and the growing UDRH SW team.

Benefits & Remuneration This full-time, fixed-term position attracts remuneration of $108,494 - $134,586pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
