Melbourne CBD ? campus, ? and hybrid ways of working ? About You The Research Assistant will undertake research activities in line with the University's research strategy.
It is expected that the Research Assistant has capability to work with an increasing degree of autonomy, and leadership of post-graduate students supporting the work.
The Research Assistant will be employed on a fixed term 2-year contract to investigate inhaled drug deposition in representative nasal anatomies produced from CT scans.
For the successful candidate, 0.8 FTE will be considered.
They will generate a comprehensive dataset of fluid-particle flow and deposition in the nasal airways using Ansys Fluent.
Working with partners, a design of device prototypes and its performance is required.
The new device design will involves an integrated, iterative process combining particle engineering and CFD-DEM simulation to optimize the device for effective aerosolization and absorption.
This position requires outstanding computational skills, and fundamental knowledge of fluid dynamics and aerosol science.
To be successful in this position, you will have: Experience in using computational software with ANSYS-Fluent running Lagrangian particle tracking, VOF-DPM.
Demonstrate high level proficiency in fluid-particle dynamics, heat transfer, and aerosol science.
Demonstrated skills in Python scripting, Latex, basic Linux, and Adobe software.
Demonstrated understanding of radiology scanner technologies and its relationship to CAD modelling.
Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment Demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners.
Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.
