Build strong engagement with local audiences Contract Vacancy for Approximately 6 Months Beautiful Port Lincoln Location The Role ABC Eyre Peninsula is based at Port Lincoln. The team works with a range of communities - from the Seafood Capital of Australia, primary producers, to seaside holiday towns - to tell their stories on radio, online, social media, and TV. In this role you'll be living and working in a city with world class culinary offerings, just a short walk or drive from some of the most beautiful beaches in the country.
News reporters are vital in bringing the characters and stories of these communities to local and national audiences.
The Job ABC News is looking for an enthusiastic and talented reporter to create compelling news content across all platforms.
The ways to tell these stories are ever-evolving; it could be a live cross into TV with overlay you filmed yourself using the latest mobile technology, an online story on Australia's most trusted news website, a carefully crafted radio package on AM, a short piece in a radio news bulletin you're presenting live or a long-form YouTube video.
About You You will have experience with breaking news and generating original stories in a daily news environment. You will be a team player who can also work independently.
You will have a solid knowledge of local, national and international news issues with a strong understanding of and commitment to the needs of the audience. A thorough knowledge of South Australian issues is essential.
