The Regional Technical Specialist role sits within the larger ICT Operations Team. You will be providing technical support for networks, servers, security and communication services ensuring timely incident and request resolution while working under the guidance and direction of Senior Technical Specialists. You will be assisting in a range of activities that ensure a stable and resilient operating environment for the organisation. The role is one of three regional roles (North, Central, South), you will be predominantly out in the field within your designated region. This position is working within the Central Region. Key responsibilities Business partner with operations leaders and staff to ensure Service Delivery supports the organisations operational activity; Act as a key liaison point withing the business, building relationships with key stakeholders; Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the field, taking steps to engage business stakeholders, plan and implement; Provide technical support for networks, servers, security and communication services ensuring timely incident, request and problem resolution, prioritising work according to business impact; Receive, record, track and resolve support calls, prioritising work according to business impact. Co-ordinate vendor support as needed; Maintain monitoring tools to reflect current state of the environment; Provision network, servers, security devices and equipment; Plan and complete life cycling activities (device replacements, decommissioning, firmware upgrades etc) for networks, servers, security and communication services equipment; Deliver the ongoing management and optimisation of the organisation's networks, servers, security and communication services; Maintain technical documentation and diagrams to reflect the current state of the environment; Maintain operational procedures, policy and standards pertaining to the administration of network, servers, security and communication services; Work with the broader Service Delivery team in the delivery of technical projects (as required) in relation to networks, servers, security and communication services; and Undertake work outside of core business hours to minimise interruption to clients (as required), including participating in the on-call roster. Qualifications and experience Tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in an information technology discipline, preferably in networks (CCNA desirable); Experience in: Network administration, troubleshooting and configuration; Security administration, troubleshooting and configuration; Windows server administration, troubleshooting and configuration (including Active Directory); ESXi Hypervisor, troubleshooting and configuration; Data and voice communications; Data cabling and standards; Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds); Cisco hardware and technologies; Demonstrated ability to create strong relationships with client groups to ensure excellence in client service; Demonstrated capability to quickly understand business requirements and priorities and apply these to the provision of service; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to acquire new knowledge, skills, concepts and technology; Good analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; Manage workload to achieve results; Ability to work with minimal supervision; and Unrestricted driver's license for a motor vehicle is mandatory.
