About the Role The Research and HDR Administration Officer at the School of Science provides high-level administrative support to manage research and HDR activities effectively. This role involves:
Enabling positive research outcomes for HDR students. Ensuring efficient delivery of research activities and events. Carrying out administrative tasks in line with University guidelines. About You The successful candidate will possess:
A tertiary qualification with extensive administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and training. Strong competency in using complex management and database systems to extract, analyse, and synthesise data efficiently while maintaining discretion with confidential information. High-level interpersonal and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to develop professional relationships and deliver effective customer service. A proven ability to interpret, develop, and apply policies and procedures effectively, ensuring adherence by staff and students. Well-developed organisational and planning skills to manage a high-volume workload, competing priorities, and unexpected events, using judgment and initiative. Extensive experience in research administration, budget development, financial reporting, and handling both routine and non-routine correspondence. Applicants should be aware that this role will be based at Hawkesbury Campus. However, as Western Sydney University is a multi-campus university, travel to other campuses may be required when operational needs arise.
