The Centre provides accommodation and Medical Equipment Hire services to clients of the Rockhampton Hospital.
The Centre is designed to reflect the Red Cross wellbeing model, with its sense of openness, welcome and homeliness, mirroring health and recovery.
The opportunity For this role, you will need the ability to communicate with a diverse cross-section of the community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
You should have demonstrated time management and organisational skills to coordinate administrative functions and be proficient in utilising MS Office, particularly MS Excel, or similar packages.
Your ability to use initiative and work with minimum supervision, as well as take direction and work as part of a team, be reliable and flexible to work on a range of tasks will also be an asset.
Key Roles and Responsibilities include: Welcome new guests to the Centre, providing them with essential explanatory documentation Process guests check-in and check-out requirements and ensure that guest payments are received and processed Support in the processing of Mobility Equipment Hire Service paperwork and rentals Assist with the administrative and reception tasks at the Centre, including but not limited to photocopying, filing, data entry, maintenance of guest records, and responding to telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries Demonstrate a proactive approach to Workplace Health and Safety Ensure confidentiality and discretion are exercised in all Red Cross duties and communications The impact As a volunteer, you will help those travelling for medical treatment feel at home and ease their recovery by listening, empathising, and providing them with a friendly voice.
You will have the opportunity to learn from many people's diverse history and knowledge, as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to others.
Application requirements For this role, you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross.

The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory.
