Join the Housing and Public Works' Internal Audit team as a Principal Internal Auditor and play an important role in promoting a culture of high ethical standards as well as the values of accountability and integrity in the department.
As a Principal Internal Auditor in our Internal Audit team, you will play an important role in developing and maintaining the values of accountability and integrity and promoting a culture of high ethical standards in the department.
You will take the lead in operationalising Internal Audit's data analytics strategy. You will contribute to delivering a program of financial, operational and information system audits with the aim of supporting the department to improve the effectiveness of their risk management, internal control and governance processes. In collaboration with your Internal Audit colleagues, you will also provide advisory services to the department and secretariat support to the Audit and Risk Committee.
What You Will Be Doing Lead / execute financial, operational and information system audits. Review and provide authoritative advice on the adequacy and effectiveness of business activities including actions to improve departmental performance and accountability. Lead and / or supervise a team to deliver quality internal audit services. Review and evaluate the effectiveness of management action to address audit observations and recommendations. Co-develop a data analytics strategy for the Internal Audit Unit. Execute a program of data analytic work, i.e. perform project specific data analytics as well as holistic data analytics focussing on risk, trends and efficiencies more broadly. Contribute to the development of initiatives to strengthen the department's governance arrangements and operational performance in relation to risk management, fraud, code of conduct and / or special investigation. Develop and maintain strong networks and relationships across the department and participate in departmental and public sector committees, working groups and other forums. Please note - that due to the recent Machinery of Government change, this department is now the Department of Housing and Public Works.
