The Opportunity

BlueScope Building Components is looking for a Junior Purchasing Officer to join the National Purchasing team based at Emu Plains, NSW. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions, and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.

Working within a fast-paced and customer-focused team, you will play an integral role in coordinating and supporting our national purchasing function. Standard office hours are 8am – 4pm, we can offer some flexibility to start and finish time to help you manage the work life balance juggling act!

What Will You Do?

Being part of our on-site team at our busy production hub, you'll be supporting our critical purchasing and procurement and ensuring we maintain a cost competitive position. You'll be learning to:

processing purchase orders and managing the information and data associated with these
supporting on all purchasing related admin-based tasks, handling order confirmations and invoice issues/queries as they arise
monitor the quality of supplier service through vendor ratings and accounts payable
following up suppliers to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
ensure all code of conduct and trade practices requirements are observed

More About You

With some experience or exposure to purchasing and/or procurement function, you'll bring your energy and a curious mind along with:

high attention to detail and ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
strong interpersonal skills and confident communicating with a variety of stakeholders
proficiency in MS Office applications
the ability to pick up systems and processes quickly
