We're looking for a passionate and driven communications professional to join the team and hit the ground running, supporting across a range of accounts, campaigns and initiatives.
With an interest and understanding of current affairs and strategic media relations, the Public Relations Specialist will have the opportunity to work on everything from media outreach campaigns, stakeholder engagement, to political lobbying and social media.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with at least 1 year experience under their belt.
The role will involve:Public RelationsCreate and maintain media contact lists.Develop and distribute media releases to the full range of media outlets including national, metropolitan, regional, rural and suburban TV, radio, print and social media and proactively seek media opportunities that support the Company's clients.Monitor the media landscape to identify opportunities and trends.Evaluate and report on media activities via media monitoring and other metrics.Research and author written materials for the Company's clients, including across social media sites, newsletters and other media outlets.Lead client management for smaller clients as required.Attend check-ins with clients and the respective Fifty Acres project team about project tasks and milestones.Liaise with client spokespeople for media opportunities, as required.Support the Company's client campaigns and projects through the development of media messaging, briefing notes and event run-sheets, as required.Lead content creation for Fifty Acres social media platforms.Assist Account Directors with the development and delivery of communications and media strategies in support of organisational and campaign aims for the Company's clients.Assist Managing Director and Account Executive with the development and delivery of PR plans and calendars.Other public relations duties as required.Government RelationsSupport the Company's government relations client campaigns and projects, as required.Create and maintain stakeholder contact lists.Work with the CEO, Managing Director and Account Executive to evaluate the success of government projects.GeneralAim to contribute to encouraging organic growth of the Company's existing client projects.Contribute to the Company's marketing efforts.Assist the CEO, Managing Director and Senior Account Executive with the development of New Business Proposals.Qualifications and experience – to be successful in this role you should have:Experience working in media, communications, government or stakeholder engagement (ideally within an agency setting).Qualifications in either: arts, politics, public policy, media and communications, journalism, marketing, or PR.Experience in public policy, policy writing, and campaigns / OR at a minimum a genuine interest in politics and current affairs with a strategic mindset.Experience and / or willingness and confidence to manage client relationships.Exceptional writing and content development skills across a range of audiences and channels including digital and traditional media, social media and web.A willingness to travel interstate if required and to work outside of standard hours (note - travel will be minimal, estimated a few times per year).DesirableA strong network of media contactsExperience managing social media accounts.Sound knowledge of Productive, Figma, Google Drive as well as and media monitoring servicesReport toManaging Director
