Primary objective: Ensure that Northern Territory Police, Fire Emergency Services' properties and facilities are maintained by effectively and efficiently triaging requests for Urgent Minor Repairs received by Facilities Management via email or phone, creating and issuing identification and access cards, and processing invoices in the NT Government accounts payable system.
Key duties and responsibilitiesProvide an effective service to all members of the Northern Territory Police, Fire Emergency Services (NTPFES).Liaise with the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure (DLI) to coordinate Urgent Minor Repairs (UMR) to NTPFES buildings.Arrange for building maintenance issues and services such as pest control which are not otherwise carried out under the DLI UMR process to be undertaken in NTPFES buildings as required.Produce security access and photo identification cards as required.Efficiently process invoices for payment through the NT Government Accounts Payable System within the time periods prescribed under the Treasurer's Directions.Escort contractors who are undertaking works within NTPFES properties as required.Participate in a 24/7 on-call roster for after-hours or emergency situations and assist in disaster planning and recovery.Selection criteriaEssentialDemonstrated ability to deal positively with stakeholders from diverse cultures in an empathetic, professional and respectful manner.Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with minimal supervision.The ability to prioritise requests for services in relation to building maintenance and repairs and escalate urgent requests through appropriate channels.The ability to liaise with contractors and NTPFES staff to facilitate repairs and maintenance on NTPFES properties.Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and associated systems to effectively manage information.The willingness and ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call roster which may necessitate attendance at various locations throughout the Greater Darwin Region for after-hours or emergency situations.The capacity and demonstrated ability to provide assistance when required to move large items including the use of appropriate equipment and safe work practices.DesirableGeneral knowledge and experience in the delivery of planned and reactive building maintenance works within a complex environment.Knowledge of NTPFES functions, organisational structures and administrative procedures.The successful applicant must consent to a probity and Police Criminal History Check including criminal records and intelligence data to confirm they have no relevant adverse holdings and/or significant criminal history.
