The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Promotions, Engagement and Communications Manager to work within the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) leadership team to support achievement of our role of enhancing the safety of military aviation. DASA achieve this by promoting a generative safety culture within the Defence Aviation Community. You will be accountable to support DASA directorates to identify opportunities to enhance promotion outcomes, engage stakeholders to quantify our performance and for providing specialist advice to executives and staff on the outcomes of engagement with the regulated community.Develop, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of the DASA Engagement and Promotion Strategy, Plan and associated instructions Implement, monitor and report on the operation of the DASA Feedback Framework including the management and analysis of key feedback collection activities. Apply project management skills to support the delivery of major promotional events Oversee information-management practices including DASA Registry, Mercury messaging and DASA Newsbreak Oversee development of our annually produced Aviation Safety Regulatory News magazine Align DASA branding ensuring compliance to Defence policy Oversee DASA's web content to ensure consistency across the site(s) inclusive of the utility of DASA branding Oversee DASA media services ensuring appropriate alignment, engagement and collaboration with key internal stakeholders, DASA interested parties and Defence policyAbout our TeamThe Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) is responsible to enhance and promote the safety of military aviation through the implementation of a Defence Aviation Safety Program that promotes a generative safety culture and independently assures the effective management of Defence aviation safety risks.DASA is a complex organisation consisting of Headquarters (HQ) elements and five Directorates providing aviation safety assurance and specialist engineering services to the Defence aviation community. The organisation has a strength of around 300 personnel, made up of Australian Defence Force members and Australian Public Servants, and is physically located in Melbourne VIC, Canberra ACT, and Amberley QLD.Our Ideal CandidateOur ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise and experience: Lead and mentor a small team of people in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment Foster a team culture where opportunities for continuous improvement, including streamlining and simplifying policies and practices, are identified and actionedapplying leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills to support DASA engagement and deliver complex business outcomesworking collaboratively and negotiating effectively to influence stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver agreed media and communication outcomesanalysing the strategic environment and priorities within an organisation and adjusting communications and media products and activities accordinglyidentifying and implementing a program of media and communication products and services for internal and external audiences to achieve agreed promotion outcomesworking in the aviation industry with a background in aviation safetyActively manage external stakeholders' relationships, including with other government agencies and industry partners.Prepare high quality communications materials, in collaboration with the departmental communications team and subject matter experts where appropriate including media.
