An exciting opportunity exists for a Project Officer to provide advice and project support for the health equity strategies, programs, and services to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
The Project Officer will collaborate to implement sustainable solutions in line with the organisations strategic and operational plan and will have demonstrated ability to consult meaningfully with stakeholders and provide effective engagement with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
The Project Officer will also have the knowledge and experience to successfully support the delivery of health projects, and the skills to identify issues and ensure co-design and co-development of culturally safe and responsive health care services.

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include: Demonstrate a high-level understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inequities, and health issues to deliver informed, evidence based culturally appropriate education including knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.
Provide quality advice to the Manager A&TSI, Senior Director and other stakeholders on health equity initiatives and other strategic documents related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, including approaches to ensure the successful design, delivery monitoring and reviewing of health services.
Support project planning and undertake project delivery of health initiatives to achieve effective, efficient and sustainable outcomes for consumers, including continuous development and redesigning of services through reflection and analysis of key learnings and feedback.
Assist in the development of complex project business cases, project plans, progress reports and closure reports to ensure all stakeholders are fully briefed on project objectives, milestones, impacts, tasks and progress, including the identification, documentation and escalation of risks and issues.
Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.

Remuneration value up to $131 052 p.a., comprising salary between $105 568 - $114 861 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO5).

These are statutory bodies each governed by a Hospital and Health Board.
Some public health services are also provided by private providers.

The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland, including monitoring the performance of HHSs.

Service agreements are negotiated between the Department of Health and each HHS.
The service agreement determines the services that the department will purchase from the HHS and how much it will pay for the provision of these services (ie.
the level of funding to be provided).
