AGL's Power Development & Energy Hubs unit has an exciting opportunity for a Project Modelling Analyst to join the Analysis team .
Based in Melbourne , this role will play a key part in driving the success of AGL's ambitious renewable energy projects, to deliver 5GW by 2030 and 12GW by 2035 of new capacity.
As a dedicated resource within the Analysis team, you will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of AGL's generation growth strategy through the preparation of detailed financial valuation models and presentation of business cases to achieve Financial Close.
With vast exposure across the business, you will be directly impacting and enabling AGL's strategy and shaping the future of energy in Australia for generations to come.
What you'll be doing: Detailed project financial modelling for AGL's development pipeline including such technologies as wind farms, grid-scale batteries, gas powered generation, and pumped hydro storage projects.
Project valuation, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
Developing and presenting business cases and project financials to enable better decision-making to achieve Financial Close.
Provide recommendations based on commercial insights.
Partnering with Power Development Project Managers to provide commercial and financial support for AGL's portfolio of greenfield opportunities.
Being a commercial advisor to AGL's Power Development team, through economic analysis and insights on strategic and project level opportunities.
What you'll bring: Advanced project financial modelling skills including knowledge of best practice modelling principles.
An eye for continuous improvement, specific to financial model operation and optimisation.
Ability to understand and explain commercial value drivers to provide recommendations and support decision making.
Experience with capital intensive infrastructure projects.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
The ability to operate both strategically and at a detailed technical level, understanding nuanced and complex challenges and how to communicate those to differing audiences.
An understanding of project financing and debt sizing.
An understanding of power development, greenfield energy projects and the National Energy Market (preferred but not essential).
Qualifications & Skills: Tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce, finance or economics.
Project level and equity level discounted cashflow valuation.
Three-statement financial modelling in Microsoft Excel.
