Role Matters: The Project Manager plays a key role within The University Office of Global Affairs (UOGA) in providing high-level practical and efficient project management and delivery for project teams and key stakeholders.The role entails cross-divisional collaboration, project management and delivery, reporting, analysis, developing communications, building key internal and external relationships, and developing/consulting on key programs and projects for high impact to deliver on the University Global Strategy.The role reports to the Executive Officer and has no direct reports.Responsibilities: Leading the development and monitoring of UOGA projects and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals across University Global Strategy workstreams in Education, Research, Innovation and Industry, Indigenous Knowledge Exchange, and Resilience and Sustainability.Act as the key contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining effective channels of communication, interpreting urgent requests and correspondence to prioritise.Proactively provide executive project support to the UOGA leadership, whilst exercising discretion, initiative and confidentiality at all times.Oversee the development of project plans and schedules and lead or participate in planning processes as required.Monitor, track and report on the status of project deliverables to ensure time, cost and quality metrics are in line with approved project plans for assigned projects.Facilitate and plan meetings, including compiling briefing notes and other documents, preparing outcomes, and following up on allocated or outstanding meeting tasks.Assess and manage project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.Coordinate adherence to UNSW governance pathways to ensure projects are managed within a defined, consistent and proven set of rules for project development.For more information regarding the responsibilities for this role, please refer to the Position Description at ****** and Experience Summary: Relevant postgraduate qualifications with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.Proven project management experience in areas relatable to: Education(Learning Abroad), Research, Innovation and Industry, Indigenous Knowledge Exchange/Indigenous Partnerships, and Resilience, Culture Competencies, and Sustainability.Strong understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation.Knowledge and experience in higher education with a strong understanding of education in the global context is highly desirable.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.Ability to work with ambiguity, be flexible and adaptable to move between different initiatives, issues and ad hoc projects as required.Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.Benefits
