Project Engineer – Mechanical/Piping – Perth, WAJob Overview:We are currently seeking a suitably experienced and qualified Project Engineer with proven experience in working with a mechanical and piping focused design team to deliver complex projects. The successful candidate will join our Tier 1 EPCM client working across a major multi-year renewable fuels project.It is envisioned that the successful candidate will have a strong background within Oil and Gas projects.This key position will involve acting as the primary technical interface between the client and a high-performing design team, as well as monitoring project costs and assisting with the procurement process. The position will be offered on an initial 12-month contract and will be based at our client's facilities in the Perth CBD. Your responsibilities will include; Maintain a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) within the team to ensure the integration of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHSE) requirements into design and procurement processes. Establish, nurture and foster positive client relationships while promptly and effectively resolving project-related issues. Ensure adherence to the Project Management Process, contract requirements and implement an efficient change control process. Monitor project costs rigorously, forecast final expenditures, identify trends and implement proactive measures to prevent cost overruns. Facilitate clear and effective communication among the design team, third-party stakeholders, and provide accurate and comprehensive reports to the project manager. Set clear objectives for the design team and efficiently manage interfaces between various disciplines. Provide support as needed throughout the procurement process to ensure that goods meet specifications, are delivered punctually and remain within budget constraints. About You: Hold a recognized engineering degree in the mechanical / piping discipline. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is preferred. Previous technical, practical and leadership experience in the mechanical / piping discipline and proven experience in managing a discipline design group. You will be an enthusiastic team player, with excellent stakeholder management skills. Experience working for an engineering company is beneficial.
