The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Production Manager is responsible for managing all elements of the South Australian seed production business (staff and resources).
The Naracoorte facility is central for crops grown from Mt Gambier to Bordertown.
The role involves achieving company production schedules, financial goals and contracted crop targets (yield and seed quality) through careful planning and management, providing technical expertise.
You will be responsible for:
relationships with customers and growers, including sourcing new growers managing and working closely with the production and R&D staff interacting directly with overseas clients, along with some international travel leading activities in the field, including crop inspections delivering a professional level of customer service and WHS budgeting and forecasting The Person
To be successful in this hands-on role you will have:
experience in seed growing and production (pasture, vegetable or canola) staff management experience a background in field agronomy affinity with sales You will be required to assist with manual duties and understand the operation of machinery.
Occasionally you will be hosting international clients on facility tours.
During critical periods such as harvesting, sowing, planting, and cleaning extended hours of work may be required including weekends and public holidays if deemed necessary.
The role is located in Naracoorte, 1 hour away from the coast and the larger regional centre of Mt Gambier (airport).
