MAP Co works collaboratively with these organisations to support and leverage a wholistic approach to precinct programming.About the RoleMAP Co is seeking a Project Manager (Projects) to oversee all aspects of event projects, ensuring successful planning, execution, and closure. Responsibilities include managing crowd and risk plans, developing new projects, optimizing venue production, budget management, client relations, safety compliance, team coordination, and strategic contributions. This role requires project management, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and operational execution to deliver quality events cost-effectively.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Drive the development of new event projects from concept to execution, overseeing all aspects of project delivery.Conduct analysis of venue AV capabilities, develop recommendations and strategies to optimise a new venue production model, resources and production processesManage venue and project resources, including staff, equipment and materials, to support successful project delivery.Work closely with procurement and operational teams to procure and store necessary suppliers and services for project implementation.Optimise and manage financial management tasks, including invoicing, budgets through financial modelling, business cases and resource planning to maximise project outcomes while minimising costs.Cultivate strong relationships as the primary point of contact with clients, vendors, and partners to ensure alignment on project objectives and expectations.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of project activities and resourcesA full position description will be provided to shortlisted applicants.Key Selection CriteriaComprehensive Event and Technical Production Expertise: Expertise and comprehensive understanding of indoor and outdoor event and technical production aspects, including crowd control, OH&S, risk management, lighting, audio-visual, rigging, staging and event construction.Problem-Solving and Analysis skills of Venue AV Production: Problem solving ability to interpret technical specifications and plans and provide effective equipment substitutions or alternatives when needed. Lateral thinking and adaptability to address unexpected challenges, ensuring the seamless execution of event production & technical aspects within budget and timeline constraints.Project Management and Organisational Skills: Project management abilities in managing complex projects, developing, and adhering to production schedules, allocating budgets, and coordinating technical logistics. Managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail.Procurement and Asset Management: Proficiency in sourcing and procuring event infrastructure or technical equipment to ensure events meet the highest standards of technical execution. Proficiency in sourcing suppliers, negotiations, and efficiently managing inventory to enhance technical infrastructure and ensure the delivery of exceptional event experiences.LeadershipProviding supervisory support to internal staff and external contractors.CAPEX: $15,000 (Pending Board Approval)Experience/QualificationsMinimum of 5-7 years' experience in production operations in large, complex venues.A track record of contributing to organisational strategies and providing insights for strategic decision-making.3+ years in an event delivery leadership role, showcasing exceptional event management competencies.Proficiency in event planning software, such as EBMS Momentus, Microsoft Office 365, CAD (such as Vectorworks) and Risk Assessments.Event OH&S, risk and crowd management experienceWhite Card (essential)Level 1&2 or higher First Aid Certificate (desirable)Public Safety Officer – Places of public entertainment (desirable)Health and Safety RequirementsManual handling may be required at times.Using Plant Equipment and able to lift 20kgs.Medium frequency of on-site attendance at and around event infrastructure, particularly duringthe construction and build of event infrastructure.This may involve walking on an uneven surface, wet or slippery surfaces, trailing cables, obstacles and climbing up and down ladders or rigging structures.Low to high exposure to moving objects, event construction materials, vibration and noise at the event site.
