Our Opportunity Due to parental leave we have an exciting 18 month fixed-term contract opportunity that will be leading and heavily involved in some highly critical work at Australian Unity.
The Product & Governance Lead, People Data will act as a key figure at Australian Unity in bridging the gap between People & Culture (P&C), business stakeholders and Group Technology to ensure the successful utilisation and governance of the People Data products and the data it holds, including system integrations.
This role requires a deep understanding of employee lifecycle data, time and attendance data, payroll and compensation data, applying regulatory knowledge and HR domain expertise to enable the translation of business requirements into effective, stable, and scalable data platform.
This Product & Governance Lead, People Data role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our business growth and people strategies delivering to the people systems roadmap and positively leveraging the P&C data platform to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
The role requires a mandatory combination of technical expertise in Australian Unity's Enterprise Data Platform, ETL Pipelines, Cloud Platforms and Big Data tools, People & Culture and Health Services business acumen and a passion for innovation to drive the successful adoption and optimisation of Data solutions across the group.
In addition to the above, this role is also responsible for leading the development, delivery and continuous improvement of technology driven solutions that enhance employee experience, streamline HR processes and support the overall People & Culture strategy.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, this role translates business needs into product features and collaborates with stakeholders to prioritise backlog.
What we are looking for Relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) Cloud & On-Prem Data Warehousing: Demonstrated experience working with both on-premises and cloud data warehouses (MS SQL Server, data lake, familiarity with medallion architecture ) ETL & Data Pipelines: Proficiency with ETL tools like Spark, SSIS, Glue, and the orchestration of workflows using tools like Airflow and SQL agent jobs.
Advanced Analytics: Strong background in executing complex analytics using SQL, Python, and data processing tools, along with building analytics solutions to drive decision-making.
DevOps & CI/CD: Proven experience in DevOps practices and creating CI/CD pipelines for data engineering, ensuring smooth deployment and operationalization of data models and analytics solutions.
Provide technical leadership around delivery activities including overall requirements analysis, systems analysis, design, integration, quality assurance, data privacy and security, implementation and production support.
Demonstrated experience leading data and project services specialists.
Experience being embedded in and/or a strong working knowledge of People & Culture processes and policies.
Experience of leading and influencing through change and working agilely in complex environments.
Demonstrated ability to influence others and gain support for relevant initiatives Proven experience communicating value proposition of technical initiatives to non-technical executive stakeholders.
