Purpose of the Role We are expanding our procurement team and hiring three Procurement Specialists to be part of a newly created team with expertise in Claims, Supply Chain Management, and General Business Procurement. The purpose of each role is to support and manage the end-to-end procurement process while ensuring outsourcing activities deliver commercial outcomes across A&G's business functions. You will oversee and support individual business units to meet both commercial and regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy. The role involves providing direction and support in all aspects of the procurement process, including Planning, Sourcing, Decision-making, Implementation, and Governance.
The Role Guide business units on the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and procedures.Lead complex negotiations and contract finalisation to ensure effective contract and financial management.Use tools to profile, benchmark, research, and assess the technology market, including risks and opportunities.Compile and analyse supplier performance surveys, providing timely information to support decision-making and supplier performance reviews.Support the list of preferred suppliers and contribute to new opportunities.Ensure procurement outcomes are efficient and effective, supporting strategic initiatives and business plans.Assist in updating and maintaining the contract register database.Administer and ensure timely submission of all procurement documentation.Drive successful outcomes through all procurement phases: Planning, Sourcing, Decision-making, Implementation, and Governance.Partner effectively with business and external stakeholders to ensure complete and timely procurement delivery.Support improvements in the procurement framework and related business policies and procedures.What Experience You'll Bring Experience in directing and supporting the end-to-end procurement process.Demonstrated expertise in commercial negotiations specific to technology procurement.Ability to identify and engage strong suppliers, enhancing value delivered to the organisation.Experience in managing vendor analysis and cost reduction initiatives for improved efficiency.Preferably 3-5 years of experience in a procurement role within insurance or financial services.Strong conceptual, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.High-level communication, business relationship management, and organisational skills.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with all organisational levels.Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail and effective workload management.Proven effectiveness in teamwork and process improvement.Location – Our head office is conveniently based in Toowong Village shopping centre – a city fringe location with access to retail, restaurants, various parking options and public transport. We also have office locations in Kawana (Sunshine Coast) and North Lakes – we are happy to consider applications from people wanting to work in these locations.
