Primary Objective:
This position is responsible for the coordination of accredited and non-accredited material being delivered to prisoners through the PILS, LMS, and Prisoner Information Channel.
Liaise with external stakeholders to source or develop culturally appropriate material to implement a range of courses.
Maintain and manage the day-to-day administration of the system.
Context Statement:
The position is based at The Darwin Correctional Centre.
It is responsible for the coordination of the Prisoner In-cell Learning System (PILS), including Learning Management System (LMS) and Prisoner Information Channels for the delivery of education, training, and personal development material.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with government agencies and non-government organisations to ensure a comprehensive range of service delivery.
Engage, consult and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to source and develop culturally appropriate material for delivery on the PILS, including contract management and procurement processes, for accredited/non-accredited education and training.
Coordinate and support the ongoing maintenance of the PILS in conjunction with Honeywell FM and work collaboratively to resolve problems to ensure the ongoing functionality of the PILS.
Format and upload content into the PILS, including the Learning Management System and the Prisoner Information Channel.
Develop policies and procedures for the PILS which provide advice and guidance to NT Correctional Services staff and prisoners on the appropriate use of the system.
Monitor and report regularly to the Senior Leadership Group as required on service delivery and operational challenges.
Manage the collection and reporting of statistical data of service delivery on the Integrated Offender Management System (IOMS).
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and possess sound interpersonal and communication skills including problem solving and conflict resolution.
Experience working with diverse cultures and individuals with complex social needs, particularly Aboriginal people from the Northern Territory.
High level organisational and time management skills with an ability to deliver within tight timeframes with attention to detail and accuracy.
Understanding of the standards and specifications for web-based e-learning software packages and shareable learning content.
Demonstrated capacity to work with limited supervision and to confidently use sound judgement in decision making.
Ability to prepare and maintain electronic records with high level attention to detail.
A demonstrated working knowledge of procurement and legislation within a government framework.
Desirable:
Knowledge and understanding of governmental and departmental processes with a sound knowledge of NT Correctional Services.
Formal qualifications in Information Technology, Training and Assessment or an associated field.
