About the RoleThe purpose of the role is to lead the execution of BHP's sustainability reporting and disclosure.
The role is in dynamic and rapidly evolving area for BHP, requires exceptional project management skills and benefits from a deep understanding of sustainability reporting standards such as GRI, SASB and TCFD.
Experience in coordinating and delivering cross-functional projects that meet regulatory requirements or voluntary standards is essential.
The successful candidate ideally has expertise and experience in aligning disclosures with existing external frameworks.
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability and working closely with the Principal & Specialist Sustainability Reporting & Disclosure, this role involves engagement with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and will work closely with colleagues across the Sustainability and Social Value team, HSS, Group Corporate Affairs & Communications, as well as ESG Legal, Group Governance, Risk, and the external auditor.
Leads the delivery of the sustainability elements of the Annual Reporting suite – sustainability section of the Annual Report and the ESG Standards & Databook with potential to support the BHP websiteDevelops and manages the sustainability reporting schedule and activities and communicates that across all the key stakeholdersManages the sustainability assurance and verification processRepresents sustainability reporting on the Annual Reporting Working Group and ensures coordination of sustainability disclosures across the Annual Reporting suiteDevelops the ESG Databook including the sustainability reporting navigatorCoordinates reporting timeline and process with Investor Relations, Group Governance, Communications and other relevant subfunctionsAbout YouA commitment to and understanding of the Company's approach to sustainabilityA clear understanding of the company's sustainability disclosure requirements, principally TCFD and GRI recognizing that this is evolving to include mandatory global standards such as ISSB and CSRDDemonstrated experience in developing, managing and delivering projects to a strict timelineExcellent attention to detail, ability to work at pace and under pressure and able to adapt and adjust the plan to meet evolving stakeholder expectationsAbility to coordinate work and deliverables with multiple groups, in this case the Annual Reporting team, SMEs, reviewers, external auditors and senior leadersProven ability to work with senior internal stakeholdersAbout Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
