About the role RACQ is seeking an experienced Principal Risk Advisor for a 6–12-month contract.
In this hands-on role, you will provide expert risk and assurance support within RACQ's Corporate Services function.
You will report directly to the Corporate Services division and collaborate with the Group Risk and Compliance team, as well as other business risk advisors across the organisation.
The Corporate Services function covers Accounting and Finance, Treasury, Procurement, Property Services, Legal and Company Secretary, with Finance and Accounting being the largest team.
Key Responsibilities: Provide expert risk and assurance support, helping to strengthen risk management frameworks and governance practices across the organisation.Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, establishing rapport and influencing decisions with well-reasoned arguments.Draft and review risk and governance documentation to ensure compliance with organisational policies and industry standards.Conduct thorough analysis to uncover insights and address risks or issues proactively.Adapt strategies to changing internal and external drivers, ensuring alignment with RACQ's objectives.Take ownership of tasks with limited supervision while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.About you 5-7 years of relevant experience in risk, compliance, audit, or governance roles, preferably within the Insurance or Banking sector.A university degree in Business, Commerce, Risk Management, Governance, or a related field.
CA or CPA highly regarded.Demonstrated ability to critically analyse problems, uncover insights, and address challenges with an enquiring mind.Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to engage effectively at all levels within the organisation.Proven track record in establishing effective relationships and influencing stakeholders through well-researched arguments.Experience with risk management frameworks, governance processes, and regulatory environments.Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure.A courageous approach to speaking up when things aren't right, with a focus on continuous improvement.What we offer you: At RACQ, we want you to succeed in work and life and feel supported to do good stuff daily.
