Principal Marine Consultant - Capital Project ApprovalsPrincipal Marine Consultant Perth/Sydney/Melbourne or Brisbane ERM has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Marine Consultant with 10+ years' experience to join our growing team within the world's largest advisory firm focused solely on sustainability. You will be leading environmental approvals for major projects, with a focus on offshore energy and carbon capture and storage projects.
As a Principal Marine Consultant, your leadership, client relationships, and technical consulting skills will support the growth of ERM's business and client base. You will have access to ERM's global Impact Assessment Technical Community. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior professional looking to advance their career with a global sustainability leader on both local and international projects.
Key Responsibilities: Lead environmental impact assessment projects and complex approvals processes.Project manage multiple projects within scope and budget and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients.Mentor junior and mid-level consulting staff to develop their skill sets in the environmental impact assessments and approvals.Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.Key Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Marine Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar.Minimum 10 years' experience in environmental approvals.Familiarity with Commonwealth and State environmental legislation and their application to facilitate the delivery of offshore projects.Broader experience in environmental management and stakeholder engagement would be viewed favourably.Well-developed team building and influencing skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.Solid experience building sustaining relationships with major clients.Excellent writing, communication, presentation, strategic thinking, and people skills.Authorisation to work in Australia.ERM Employee Benefits: Structured career development, including access to mentoring and collaboration opportunities with industry leading technical experts.Discretionary performance bonuses and incentives.Professional memberships, including paid annual membership to a relevant professional organisation.Wellness 'You' Day, access to 1 'wellness day' per quarter, in addition to annual leave.Access to purchased additional leave.Flexible working arrangements.Continuous training and development including support for external training; and capacity building opportunities through our learning hub.Access to a wide variety of local, interstate, and international projects.Employee Assistance Programs including mental and physical health wellness support, confidential access to a wellbeing coach and discounts with a range of retailers.Opportunity to join and work in local communities through the ERM foundation.At ERM, we believe that our only asset is our people and we strive to provide a working environment and benefits that both attract and retain top talent.
