Seeking a dynamic Principal Advisor, Health and Safety to drive impactful strategies and provide expert guidance across Queensland Health. Influence decision-making, support practitioners, and lead initiatives that enhance workplace health, safety, and wellbeing statewide. Join us in shaping a safer future for all!
Reporting to the Director of System Leadership and Advisory or Manager of Monitoring, Evaluation and Compliance, you will provide expert advice, analysis, and reports to executives and health, safety, and wellbeing practitioners. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across Queensland Health, lead the development, coordination, and implementation of strategic health and safety management systems, programs, and initiatives. You will also proactively monitor organizational health and safety performance, research, emerging issues, and industry trends to innovate best practices and ensure legislative and policy compliance. Your responsibilities include:
Design, deliver, and monitor effectiveness of health, safety, and wellbeing programs for Queensland Health.
Provide expert strategic advice to Executive and senior management on health, safety, wellbeing, injury management, and workers' compensation issues.
Identify and analyze needs, coordinate training and development to enhance Queensland Health's management of health, safety, and wellbeing statewide.
Manage stakeholder relationships with HHSs, industry regulators, insurers, unions, government agencies, and community groups.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated:
Knowledge of health, safety, and wellbeing strategies, policies, legislation, and trends, with a proven ability to develop and implement effective systems within a large public sector organization.
Experience in developing, implementing, and improving organization-wide health, safety, and wellbeing management systems in complex environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of analyzing performance data and providing strategic advice for systems improvement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at establishing productive relationships and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
