We are seeking a teacher for Years 5 or 6, in our Italian / English Bilingual school. This is a rare opportunity to be able to deliver the Australian Curriculum in both Italian and English. About your new school Yarralumla Primary School is located in a leafy, tranquil setting in inner-suburban Yarralumla, about 3 kilometres from the centre of Canberra and nestled on the banks of the iconic Lake Burley Griffin It is a community-focused, neighbourhood school which caters for children from ages 3 to 12. The strength of the school lies in the close partnership between students, staff and parents and the wider community. Yarralumla Primary School is the only Italian/English Bilingual school in the Australia Capital Territory. Its bilingual program has been operating since 2009 and its reputation and popularity has blossomed over the years, growing from 35 to nearly 400 students across Kindergarten to Year 6. The program is taught using the Content Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) pedagogy where K-6 children learn half of the Australian Curriculum in the Italian language.
