The opportunity exists for an experienced Operations Manager to join our QLD Team based at Port of Brisbane. Reporting to the National Port Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day activities as head of the QLD Port operations team. You will be expected to build strong internal and external relationships and be directly responsible for regularly communicating with drivers, stakeholders, compliance and managing staff to ensure business objectives are achieved in a safe and cost-effective manner. Continued business growth while maintaining key deliverables is the target for any successful applicant.
The opportunity is available for candidates including those looking to relocate interstate to Brisbane, Queensland. Remuneration will be based on experience and skill set.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Managing the business performance and supporting the office staff, while driving high operational and safety standardsAbility to perform in a fast-paced environmentA safety & compliance leaderStrong leadership with a focus on culture and team developmentEnsure all fleet and plant equipment is operating & maintained at service standardsTimely and effective communication both internally and externallyWhat we are looking for: A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the Port Operations industry.Thorough knowledge of Brisbane Port Operations and safety standardsExperience in identifying & implementing continuous improvement initiativesSound knowledge of Freighttracker, ContainerChain and 1-stopExcellent stakeholder engagement and ensuring customer retentionStrive under pressure in a fast-paced environmentPromote strong business relations with regular contact with internal and external stakeholdersStrong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracyA focus on Workplace Health and SafetyThis is a hands-on and busy role.
