If you require an adjustment for the recruitment process or job, please discuss this with the contact officer.Aboriginal applicants will be granted priority consideration for this vacancy.Primary objective:Provide professional advice and information to the Department, the Northern Territory Planning Commission, relevant Government Departments and agencies, and the public on planning and development issues.Key duties and responsibilities:Develop land use concepts and associated policy for the Department and the Planning Commission that respond to issues raised in consultation with all stakeholders.Provide professional advice and information to the Department, the Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, the Northern Territory Planning Commission, relevant Government agencies, industry, and the public on strategic land use policy and plans in consultation with stakeholders and the community.Develop land use planning projects including amendments to the Northern Territory (NT) Planning Scheme for the Department.Liaise and facilitate consultation with all stakeholders, community groups, and service agencies on strategic planning projects, and lead negotiations with all stakeholders to reach a viable outcome.Selection criteria:Essential:A degree or diploma related to Land Use Planning from an Australian tertiary institution, or equivalent.Knowledge and a minimum of two years' experience in dealing with a wide range of land use and development planning issues.Ability to provide professional advice to government, industry, and the public on land planning and development processes and requirements.Demonstrated ability to operate efficiently and reliably with minimum supervision and provide support to the team environment.Current Northern Territory Drivers Licence or ability to obtain.Well-developed political and cross-cultural awareness skills.Desirable:Demonstrated capacity to develop and present spatial land use concepts and associated policy.Good knowledge of the Northern Territory planning procedures, systems, and Departmental practices.#J-18808-Ljbffr
