We are seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join our clients dedicated payroll team at a medium-sized federal government agency. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day payroll processing, including salary and entitlement calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and related statutory requirements.
What You'll Do

Lead and Support: Assist the Payroll Services Team Leader in overseeing daily operations and work distribution within the team, ensuring timely and high-quality payroll services. Complex Payroll Tasks: Handle complex payroll activities such as leave audits, redundancy calculations, superannuation, and taxation queries. Advisory Role: Provide expert advice on salaries, entitlements, and leave conditions in line with our enterprise agreement and policies. Decision-Making: Make informed decisions within set parameters, setting new precedents when necessary. Customer Relations: Manage complex customer relationships, resolving issues, and escalating when required. Mentorship: Mentor and coach less experienced team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and career development.
