We have a highly engaged, diverse, and collaborative workforce that is unified by our goal to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.About the Orthopaedic DepartmentThe Orthopaedic Department, as part of the Division of Surgery, Anaesthesia & Procedural Medicine, is responsible for the provision of services within the specialty to patients across all campuses of Austin Health. The Orthopaedic Department Head of Unit is A.Prof. Andrew Hardidge.Orthopaedic surgery services are provided at both the Austin and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital sites. The Unit is committed to the provision of high-quality patient care and maintains an ongoing commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching that includes Medical Students, Postgraduate Orthopaedic Nurses, Physiotherapists, Hospital Medical Officers, Registrars, and many others.The Austin Orthopaedic department is comprised of around 30 surgeons (four of whom are full-time) and junior medical staff including: clinical Fellows; 4 accredited Registrars; 4 non-accredited Registrars; and 8 Residents across 2 campuses.A consultative Orthopaedic service is provided to other Units across all campuses. In addition, outpatient clinics provide new, review, post-operative and post-fracture assessment and management to some 16,000 patients per annum.About the roleAustin Health is seeking suitably qualified and enthusiastic medical practitioners to join our team as an Orthopaedic Surgeon.Employment Status: Part time, fixed term position from 02.02.2025 - 22.02.2026Additional Notes: Monday to FridayAbout youTo be successful for this role you must:Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS (Orth)), or equivalentHave appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of OrthopaedicsDemonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient careDemonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe, and quality care across the continuumDemonstrate a commitment to teaching, training, and researchApplication InstructionsAs part of the process, you will be directed to Austin Health's Online Credentialing System to complete your application.
