Your new company A cornerstone of integrity in the Northern Territory's public administration, the Office of Independent Commissioner Against Corruption (OICAC) is an autonomous statutory office, established by the ICAC Act 2017. ICAC's mission is to combat improper conduct within the public sector. The team, employed within the OICAC, is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of public service through rigorous assessments, investigations, and responsive actions to any allegations of misconduct. Your new role As an Operations Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting OICAC's mission to uphold integrity within the Northern Territory's public sector. Working under the supervision of an Operations manager, your responsibilities will include: Assisting in the conduct of thorough assessments and investigations into alleged improper conduct, as directed by the OICAC or Assistant OICAC. Utilising statutory powers, where appointed as an Authorised Officer, to advance investigations, including the authority to enter and search premises and compel answers to pertinent questions. Analysing and distilling large volumes of information to identify key points crucial to decision-making processes. Maintaining objectivity and exercising sound judgement in assessing and investigating allegations of improper conduct. Preparing detailed notices, case notes, memoranda, plans, recommendations, decision records, and evidence documentation related to assessments and investigations. Managing extensive evidence volumes methodically and comprehensively. Building and maintaining effective collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Contributing to the Operations Team by providing input, briefings, and support, and assisting in the delivery of relevant internal and external training. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this vital position, you will need: Proven experience in collecting and analysing large volumes of information. Experience in conducting assessments, investigations, audits, reviews, or evaluations in either the public or private sector. A track record of preparing high-quality written communications. The ability to work well within a team and manage substantial workloads effectively. Experience working in environments requiring strict confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement. Experience in effectively communicating with and interviewing individuals from diverse backgrounds. Desirable: A qualification in accounting, law, investigations, or a related discipline.
