They are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to provide leadership in the management of all service provider contracts and relationships to fulfill the needs and requirements of their stakeholders and the end-users of their facility in Canberra.
Relocation package available for suitable interstate candidates. ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of this full-time permanent role is to provide leadership in relation to all services at General John Baker Complex in Bungendore. You will primarily be responsible for the management of all service provider contracts and relationships to ensure that the requirements and obligations of the Deeds are met regarding the daily operations of the site.
Key responsibilities include: 1. Operational Management
You will support the day-to-day operations of the site by overseeing facilities maintenance, security, catering, cleaning and other contracted services, ensuring performance issues and defects are resolved efficiently. You will manage and meet the expectations of key stakeholders including DAR (Defence Authorised Representative), while fostering positive working relationships. Additionally, you will be expected to optimise resource use, control costs, maintain quality standards, and mitigate risks.
2. Contract/Compliance Management
You will manage the relationship with the facilities maintenance provider, Downer, in line with the HQJOC Operation Contract, ensuring their performance meets contracted KPIs and working to maximise performance while minimising abatements, collaboratively supporting the relationship between the DAR and Downer.
3. Project Management
You will provide input into any project plans, ensuring to mitigate any risks that would adversely impact its operations or stakeholders. You will work closely with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and support to the Project team to help meet project implementation requirements, all while prioritising the safety of workers and preventing any injuries during the process.
4. Occupational Health, Safety & Environment
Ensuring a safe environment for all personnel, you will identify, record, and report any Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) incidents or hazards, and implement effective solutions to address them. Additionally, you will ensure that environmental mitigation processes are in place and functioning effectively to minimise any negative environmental impacts.
5. Financial
You will be responsible for limiting the magnitude of abatements and ensuring the delivery of required operational performance within a defined budget. You will also assist with the preparation of forecasts, budgets, and reports to support effective financial planning and performance tracking.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a candidate with strong relationship management skills, capable of effectively managing multiple relationships and key stakeholders to ensure successful collaboration and outcomes. You will also have:
Degree in Engineering, Construction, Commercial, Contract Management or similarAbility to manage contractual relationships with multi-discipline service providers within a KPI environment involving multiple stakeholdersUnderstanding of PPP (Public Private Partnerships) and/or working with government body/s – highly desirableExcellent problem-solving abilities with a solution-oriented mindset.Ability to obtain a Department of Defence security clearance – NV1 level*It is a requirement for this role that the successful candidate will obtain an NV1 level of defence security clearance.
