Channel Ship Services Limited (CSS) is on the lookout for a dedicated Offshore Benthic Ecologist/Environmentalist to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for investigating and monitoring benthic ecosystems in offshore environments, contributing to the sustainable management of marine resources. This position is offshore and so offshore documents are required along with having Benthic experience as an Ecologist, Environmentalist, MMO, PAM etc.
Responsibilities Conduct field surveys and assessments of benthic environments, including habitat characterization and species identification. Collect and analyze data related to environmental conditions, biodiversity, and the impacts of offshore activities. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and potential mitigation strategies. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other scientists to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into project planning and execution. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, policies, and best practices throughout offshore operations. Participate in stakeholder consultations and contribute to the development of environmental management plans. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in marine ecology and environmental science. Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, marine biology, ecology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Benthic Ecologist or Environmental Scientist, preferably in offshore settings. Strong knowledge of benthic ecosystems and marine biodiversity, including identification of marine organisms. Experience with ecological assessment methodologies and data analysis techniques. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and presentations. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices in marine management. Ability to work in challenging offshore environments and adapt to varying conditions. Valid driver's license and passport. Offshore certification and training (e.g., BOSIET) preferred. Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
